PHASED ARRAY ULTRASONIC

non-destructive testing: PHASED ARRAY ULTRASONIC

PHASED ARRAY ULTRASONIC NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING

Our staff are qualified under ISO 9712 SNT TC 1A in non-destructive testing using PHASED ARRAY ultrasonics, a technique normally used on welds and forged metals of large sizes, according to ISO and ASME standards etc.

PHA ultrasonic testing can identify small defects even in large thicknesses, to very accurate heights and lengths. Under the ASME and ISO codes, it can also be used in place of radiographic testing.

The PHASED ARRAY COMPUTERISED technique uses probes with multi-crystals that allow for multiple simultaneous scanning angles.

For austenitic and stainless steel welds, PHA inspection with matrix probes is best.

It allows for monitoring, registration and reliability of phased array and the substitution of radiographic testing with ultrasonic.

The latest generation of computerised tools for PHA testing allow for complete recording of all data and therefore repeatability of inspections over the years, not only during construction but also during service.
